Kilo is a small neighborhood wine bar started by Emanuel and Barbara in August 2012. Emanuel whose family has been in the coffee shop business in NYC for 30 years and after completing law school decided to follow his passion and open a wine bar with some old school coffee shop sensibilities in the underserved neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen.  Kilo was inspired by the food markets and restaurants of the mediterranean where food and wine is sold by the kilo. Joel Jester, the head chef joined the Kilo team in July 2013, originally from Seattle, he is self taught and his approach to food is fresh and creative. LJ Hollins, one of our Wine Directors has been part of Kilo since day one, and brings an unrivaled wine knowledge to Kilo . Chad Wagner, Kilo's head bartender has also been with Kilo since day one, a Hell's Kitchen resident, we have yet to meet someone that doesn't know him.
